Ards Peninsula Photograph Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Safety is paramount - photographers must not compromise their safety or the safety of others for the purposes of taking a photograph.
  2. Care must be taken not to disturb wildlife for the purposes of taking a photograph.
  3. Trespassing on private property is not acceptable: if a photograph is taken from private property, photographers must ask landowner’s permission, respect the private property, keep to the rights-of-way, and leave the location in the same condition as it was found.
  4. Entry by online form submission only - photographs sent by mail will not be considered.
  5. Competition photo entries must be taken between 1st of January 2019 and 31st of December 2019
  6. Entrants must be the sole creator of all photographs entered in their name.
  7. Only photographs taken of or from the Ards Peninsula will be considered - if there is any ambiguity in respect of the location of the photograph, proof may be required. The Ards Peninsula is considered to be south of Newtownards and Donaghadee.
  8. If submitting a photograph of a person, photographers must have permission from anyone that is recognisable in their photograph, or have the full permission of the parent/guardian of minors included in the photograph.
  9. Photographs will be published on the Ards Peninsula Villages Partnership Facebook page at the discretion of the competition administrators.
  10. The number of ‘Likes’ received from the public on social media will not effect the final decision of the Judges.
  11. The Judges may award an overall Best Photograph that covers all Categories.
  12. The Judges may also give additional awards for any photograph that does not receive an award in any of the Categories.
  13. A panel of Judges will choose the winners of each photographic Category - the Judges’ decision is final and no discussion will be entered into.
  14. Proof of age for Category 9 (under 16) may be required.
  15. Proof of submission of entries is not proof of receipt of entries.
  16. There is no monetary prize in any Category.
  17. Winners will receive a certificate from the Mayor of Ards and North Down Borough Council, and their photograph will be publicised by the associated competiton organisations at their discretion.
  18. On entering the competition, you accept that Ards Peninsula Villages Partnership, Spectator Newspapers, and Ards and North Down Borough Council have the right to use your photograph for an indefinite period without paying you a fee.
  19. None of the organising or partner organisations make any claim whatsoever on the copyright of YOUR photographs. The copyright will at all times be retained by the photographer. Where an image or images are reproduced by the organisers or partner organisations, the photographer will be credited. No commercial payment will be made for the use of your photograph.
  20. The organisers reserve the right not to accept photographs that are of sub-standard quality.
  21. By entering the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have agreed to these terms and conditions.
